Welcome to Sunny Bank! Welcome to the web-site for the new Sunny Bank Retirement Home, the only such bilingual establishment for the English-speaking community on the French Riviera.
The development of the new Retirement Home is sponsored by Sunny Bank, a charity which founded an English-speaking Hospital in Cannes in 1892 and has been helping expatriates in need for over a century.
The new Home near Cannes is managed by The Group EMERA, a major French company with over 20 high-grade homes in France. It opened on 3rd May 2010.
Sunny Bank owns the land on which the Home is built, and has made it available to EMERA on a 30-year lease. We will work in close partnership with the Management of the Home, named Victoria, towards making it into a lively and welcoming multi-cultural establishment.
We also run a bookstore which offers the English speaking community a broad selection of donated books & bric-a-brac. This provides a regular meeting-place for friends and contributes to our fund raising efforts for the elderly in need and Residents of the new Home.
The principal objectives of the two Sunny Bank entities are as follows:
Sunny Bank Association: To provide through our commercial partner - EMERA - a Medicalised Retirement Home and Community Centre specially oriented towards Anglophone residents in the South-East of France. The lease income we earn from EMERA for the use of our land at Mouans-Sartoux will help fund our charitable activity, with its special focus on support for the elderly. Sunny Bank Charity: To build up a fund through donations and legacies in support of Anglophone residents unable financially to afford their health or retirement home needs in the South-East of France. |
